In today’s world children (and adults) are constantly being challenged with difficult choices.  A foundation in Tae Kwon Do can help give them the tools they need to make the right decisions as they continue on their path to adulthood.

New – Ninja Tots!

Ages 3 to 4: This weekday daytime program focuses on fun and activity for the littlest ones!

Little Tigers

Ages 4 to 5: Introductory program for pre-school to kindergarten children. The focus on this class is on the development of fine motor skills and coordination, as well as the child’s focus and concentration. We build the child’s character and confidence through the use of positive praise and reinforcement. There is no sparring, combat or defined self-defence training at this stage.

Children’s Classes

Ages 6 to 11: Our award-winning children’s program designed to help children develop into confident, happy adults. In this age group proper Taekwondo etiquette such as respect and discipline are strongly emphasized. Through their Taekwondo training we teach the children the importance of patience, dedication, and perseverance. There is no sparring, or combat training at this stage, but may include limited self-defence techniques.

Advanced Children’s Classes

Ages 10-15: Our programs geared specifically towards teenagers, through which we hope to give them the confidence, self-esteem, and discipline to get through the occasional difficulties of adolescence, and grow into confident happy adults. After Green Belt, students will begin sparring (contact) with full safety equipment including head, hand, arm, leg, chest/back and groin protection. At this stage children are introduced to self defence methods, and anti-bullying defence techniques.

Good Citizenship Program (Grades 1 to 6)

The citizenship program is a take-home program to develop good citizenship and responsibility. In keeping with “Applying Tae Kwon Do principles in everyday life” and the teachings of self-reliance, responsibility, cooperativeness, family love and respect, Master Park has established the Hong Park Good Citizenship Program.

Intent To Promote

This program was designed as another way to promote character development through Tae kwon do training. The Intent to Promote forms we provide address two areas of each students life outside of Tae kwon do. There is a place on the form for your Childs school teacher to indicate if the student is performing satisfactorily and acting with respect at school, and there is another place on the form where you as parents may evaluate your child’s behavior at home.

If your child does not get an “AGREE” from both their teacher and yourselves, then they must wait for promotional testing until they have demonstrated improvement in those areas. Children are then being held accountable, not just for what happens in the dojang, but for their behavior and attitude at home and school. We want all of our students to become Black Belts, in Taekwondo, and in life.

Adult Tae Kwon Do (16+)

At the Hong Park Tae Kwon Do College we believe that developing and maintaining a sound body and mind are critical to getting the most out of life. In our Adult programs you will experience a unique approach to self defense and exercise that benefits the body and the mind.  Adults are welcome to book a free trial class and talk to current students to learn more!

Kichun

Kichun is a Korean martial art that combines the lower impact of Tai chi or Yoga, and combines it with traditional martial arts movements and intents based on Taekwondo, and other Korean martial arts.

Exercise

To strengthen the body, you will begin with fundamental strength building exercises and cardiovascular training. Flexibility will be enhanced through a gradual building process and easy stretching techniques. You will find that the breathing and concentration exercises sharpen your senses and reflexes while allowing you to relax from the stress of daily life. This unique combination of using the power of the body and of the mind is the key to increased energy, self discipline, and fitness for a longer, happier life.

Confidence and Self Esteem

Self Control and Discipline come with belief of self worth, a benefit of goal setting and achievement. In our course you will set goals which we will help you achieve.
